First incremental update for OS X 10.10 includes Public Beta users
On Thursday, Apple updated its supported drivers for Epson printers and scanners for all OS X Snow Leopard (10.6), Lion (10.7), Mountain Lion (10.8) and Mavericks (10.9) users, and also added an update intended only for those testing the forthcoming OS X 10.10 Yosemite beta (either developers or members of the Beta Seed Program). The latter is just a small incremental update to the Feedback Assistant used to send Apple data on issues with the beta, and is available to all Yosemite testers.
The Feedback Assistant Update 4.0.3 "improves the stability and reliability of the Feedback Assistant application and is recommended for all users," Apple says in its release notes. Previous versions of the program have accompanied earlier betas of Yosemite and testing versions of previous OS releases.
The Epson update is mostly notable for still including Snow Leopard users, as the company has been phasing out support for the five-year-old OS over the last few months and it is increasingly rare to see 10.6.x included in any new updates. The revised Epson drivers include added support for new models such as the Epson AL-MX300 printer, DS-40 scanner, the L120 , L300, L1300 and L1800 series printers as well as the M100 and M200 printer series. Also added was the PX-M7050 series printers, and PX-M7050FP, PX-S7050 series and the PX-S7050PS printer models.
Support was also added for the Stylus NX210, Stylus NX410 printers; the WF-4630 series and WF-4640 series printer/scanner/fax models; the WF-8010 and WF-8090 printers, and the WF-8510 and WF-8590 printer/scanner/fax series.
All the previously-supported scanner models received updates for their drivers included the DS-10000G, DS-2000, DS-2200, DS-30, DS-50000/60000/70000, DS-510, DS-5500/6500/7500, DS-560, DS-6000H, DS-6000HS, DS-7000H, DS-8500, DS-D200, DS-D350, DS-D400, DS-G11000, DS-H300, DS-H7200, Expression 10000XL, Expression 11000XL, Expression 1600, Expression 1640XL, Expression 1680 and Expression 636, F-3200, GT-10000 plus, GT-1500, GT-15000, GT-20000, GT-2500, GT-6600, GT-6700, GT-7200, GT-7300, GT-7600, GT-7700, GT-8200, GT-8300, GT-8400, GT-8700, GT-9300, GT-9400, GT-9500, GT-9700, GT-9800, GT-D1000 , GT-F500, GT-F520, GT-F550, GT-F570, GT-F600, GT-F670, GT-F700, GT-S50, GT-S55, GT-S600/F650, GT-S620/F720, GT-S630/F730, GT-S640/F740, GT-S80, GT-S85, GT-X700, GT-X750, GT-X770, GT-X800, GT-X820, GT-X900, GT-X970, Perfection 1200, Perfection 1240, Perfection 1250, Perfection 1260, Perfection 1640, Perfection 1650, Perfection 1660, Perfection 1670, Perfection 2400, Perfection 2450, Perfection 2480, Perfection 2580, Perfection 3170, Perfection 3200, Perfection 3490, Perfection 3590, Perfection 4180, Perfection 4490, Perfection 4870, Perfection 4990, Perfection 610, Perfection 640, Perfection V100, Perfection V200, Perfection V30/V300, Perfection V33/V330, Perfection V350, Perfection V37/V370, Perfection V500, Perfection V600, and Perfection V700/V750.
