Microsoft reportedly plans two more imminent Lumia launches

updated 02:18 pm EDT, Tue July 29, 2014

Superman and Tesla Lumia smartphones said to have surfaced in internal Microsoft meeting

Two more smartphones may launch from Microsoft's phone division in the near future, according to a report. Two Windows Phone devices were allegedly revealed during an internal meeting chaired by Microsoft devices head Stephen Elop, with one smartphone described as a "selfie" device with a five-megapixel front-facing camera sensor above a 4.7-inch display.

Sources of The Verge claim a video teaser of the smartphone was shown at the meeting, which is believed to be previously codenamed as "Superman." Aside from the screen size and the higher-resolution front camera, little else is known about the device, though it is touted to have mid-range specifications, and is likely to be released before the end of this year.

A second device was also revealed, with the codename "Tesla." Suggested to be an "affordable high-end phone," it will apparently have a high-resolution PureView camera on the back, and could be a replacement for the Lumia 720, though sources claim it bears a resemblance to a thinner Lumia 930.

While dates were not discussed, it is implied that both the Superman and Tesla smartphones will be launching soon, along with "other high-end products."
