South Korean release for combined Android notebook, tablet from LG
LG has revealed a version of its Tab Book, a combined tablet and notebook, running on Android instead of Windows 8.1. The new Tab Book 11TA740 uses an 11.6-inch Full HD IPS display which can slide up and uncover a physical keyboard, with the Android device weighing 1.05 kilos (2.3 pounds) and measuring just 16.7 millimeters (0.65) thick when used as a tablet.
Inside is a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor clocked at 2.6GHz with 4GB of RAM, Intel HD 4400 graphics, and a 128GB SSD supplemented by microSD. With the addition of Wi-Fi connectivity, two USB 3.0 connections, and HDMI-out, the overall specifications list puts it on a par with some notebooks, though the use of Android Jelly Bean rather than KitKat is a slightly disappointing choice.
LG did not reveal a release date nor price for the Tab Book 11TA740, but did advise it will be shipping in the company's home market, South Korea.
