updated 01:38 am EDT, Thu July 24, 2014

Full-featured laptop backpack by Booq fits 17-inch PC, MacBook Pro

Booq has announced the release of its newest laptop backpack offering this week: the Cobra pack. Comprised of a 1680 denier ballistic nylon exterior with a water-repellent coating, items within the pack are protected from weather conditions, and its quilted inner lining prevents damage during transport. The bag's main compartment features two open pockets and a slip pocket that offers easy access to something like a magazine or book while travelling. Its zippered mesh window pocket keeps passports, tickets and important items accessible, and its separate zippered padded laptop compartment can accommodate a 15- to 17-inch laptop. A second zippered back pocket can hold a tablet.

The Cobra's shoulder strap system is ergonomically designed, and offers three adjustment points for proper fitting. All Booq bags are tagged with a Terralinq serial number that, upon registering, can assist in locating a lost pack. Priced at $300, the Cobra pack is available online and through various retailers.

Akvis NatureArt 6.0 now available for Windows and Mac users

Akvis has announced an update for its NatureArt software, available as a standalone application as well as a Photoshop plug-in filter. The program, which can be used on both Windows and Mac operating systems, imitates natural elements as effects that can be added to a digital photo. NatureArt v6.0 adds new presets to the Sun and Frost effects, offering a simplified way to achieve results at a beginner level.

Dropbox is now a part of the list of available publishing services, meaning that Dropbox users can share their image directly from the program without a reduction in quality. More RAW formats are now supported, and performance on Windows 64-bit and Photoshop CC 2014 compatibility have also been included. A free update for existing users, NatureArt v6.0 is priced at $70 for a single home license.
