Kanex Products introduces Thunderbolt to eSATA adapter

Kanex Products has announced the release of its Thunderbolt to eSATA and USB 3.0 adapter. Allowing users to connect Thunderbolt-equipped Mac or PC to an eSATA device, the adapter is capable of extending the use of existing eSATA-equipped external storage units. It USB 3.0 port facilitates a fast connection to peripherals that users may already have, such as external hard drives, a keyboard, or mouse.

Users can connect their eSATA hard drive to the Kanex Thunderbolt adapter, and then plug into the Thunderbolt port of their Mac or PC. Priced at $80, the adapter is available for purchase from Kanex's website and affiliated retailers.

Devon Technologies updates DevonAgent and other freeware apps

DevonTechnologies has updated all editions of its web research assistant DevonAgent, as well as having released new versions of its freeware apps. DevonAgent assists users in finding information with a variety of search engines. The latest version -- v3.8.1 -- now uses Open Graph, better matching web pages for more accurate search results. The updated MacUpdate plugin lets users search for new software, and its improved Twitter Accounts scanner lists all Twitter IDs on a web page. The pro version of DevonAgent now executes menu scripts in the background, removing interruption.

CalService, WordService, and BlueService services are now packaged as applications, as required by the Mac App Store. EasyFind v4.9.3 and ThumbsUp v4.5.2 offer user interface clean-up, as well as bug fixes. DevonAgent is available in Lite (free), Express ($5) and Pro ($150) formats, with EasyFind, ThumbsUp, CalcService, WordService and BlueService available for free.
