Amid layoffs Microsoft announces closure of original content wing of Xbox

On top of the 18,000 layoffs and shifting company structure, Microsoft will be closing the Xbox Entertainment Studios in the coming months. The studio was launched to add Microsoft to the original content race on the Internet, with shows based on some hit Xbox franchises such as Halo. Xbox head Phil Spencer issued an internal memo thanking the team for their work, as well as what to expect. Microsoft issued a statement to Joystiq confirming that existing projects would carry on.

Even as the studio winds down, some of the team will remain on board, including Nancy Tellem and Jordan Levin, to work on projects already in the production phase. This means that the Halo: Nightfall series coming with the Halo: The Master Chief Collection, the 343 Industries and Steven Spielberg-produced Halo show and the documentary Signal to Noise will live on.

Tesoro releases Tizona tenkeyless mechanical keyboard with switch options

Tesoro announced the available of the new Tizona tenkeyless mechanical gaming keyboard. The Tizona promises 60 million keystrokes, with full USB N-Key rollover for independent, simultaneous key presses. It also includes a full N-Key to six-key rollover switchable function, three thumb keys, two USB 2.0 ports and a DC-in jack for additional power. While the number pad isn't included, one can be purchased to attach to the left or right of the keyboard. Users can purchase two, one for each side, to increase the number of macro keys available.

Consumers interested in the Tizona can purchase it with one of four mechanical switch types, including blue, black, brown and red, based on their preferences. Price from Tesoro doesn't change based on the switch type, leaving the keyboard at $90. If the number pad portion is required, it can be purchased for an additional $40, or bought as a bundle for $110.
