Speeds up access to Watch Later, other content sections
Vimeo has launched an update of its app for the Apple TV, according to an official blog post. The new app has a more streamlined interface, reducing the number of button presses needed to get to sections like the Watch Later queue, uploaded videos, or collections. The home page now features a number of curated channels, such as monthly staff favorites and popular videos. One of these is a Vimeo On Demand section, which lets people watch trailers for paid titles and later buy them.
Other changes are less visible. Clicking the More button for a video will show other clips by the same author, and related albums, channels, and groups. The update also defaults to "safe" content when a user is logged out, and includes a couple of extra button shortcuts. Hitting Play on a video thumbnail will begin continuous playback; holding down on the Select button, meanwhile, will automatically add a video to Watch Later.
