New Lumia believed to have aluminum frame, polycarbonate cover
A photograph has surfaced reportedly showing an upcoming Microsoft smartphone, suggesting the company has another Nokia Lumia device on the way. The mobile device in the images appears to have an aluminum frame with a polycarbonate backing similar to some of the more high-end Lumia devices, potentially putting the pictured smartphone in the same part of the Lumia product range.
The Verge suggests the images from Weibo depict a smartphone that could be called the Lumia 830, or alternately it may be a rumored mid-ranged device codenamed 'Tesla,' which could be renamed to the Lumia 730 at launch. The device gives few clues to its specification, though it does seem to have capacitive buttons on the front, as well as a large and flat camera housing on the rear, potentially offering a high quality camera, though it is not likely to be the same as the Lumia 1020's 41-megapixel sensor.
Other Windows Phone 8.1 devices rumored to be on the way include the 'McLaren' with Kinect-style features, The mid-ranged 'Superman' with a 5-megapixel front camera and a 4.7-inch display, and an entry-level 'Rock' smartphone.
