Redone 16GB iPod touch comes to Europe, Asia, South America

The revised 16GB iPod touch is now available through Apple's online stores in Europe, Asia, and South America, checks show. While the device is only $199 in the US however, prices are differing drastically in some regions. In the UK for instance it costs 159 pounds, or about $273.

The updated 16GB model doesn't carry any significant changes, but is cheaper and once again up to par with its siblings feature-wise thanks to a restored iSight camera and more color options. In releasing the product, Apple also dropped the costs of its 32 and 64GB players.

Internally the Touch is still several years behind products like the iPad Air or iPhone 5s, which have faster processors, more RAM, and better camera sensors. It could be updated this fall, but no rumors to that effect have surfaced.
