Addonics Technologies' Internal GigaNAS Adapter announced

Addonics Technologies has announced the release of its new Internal GigaNAS Adapter, intended for custom building one's own high-capacity network attached storage (NAS) system. Designed to mount into a PCI slot of a desktop computer, server or storage chassis (with a centronic 50-connector cutout), the adapter features two SATA ports and one USB port. Up to 16 hard drives over a LAN can be shared, with as much as 16TB per drive volume, with up to an 85MB per second transfer rate over a Gigabit Ethernet network.

The GigaNAS Adapter includes full disk sharing of existing content in any drive, or sharing of existing folders from drives created by other systems. The sharing can be set up for access via SMB or FTP connection by various users, with varying Read/Write privileges, allowing for content to be created on a drive directly from a computer and then attach the same drive to the Internal NAS adapter to have the content shared over the LAN or WAN. Priced at $95, the Internal GigaNAS Adapter can be purchased through Addonics Technologies.
