Cross-platform backup solution brought to Mac for first time
Data protection company Acronis has announced the availability of Acronis True Image for Mac. The backup and imaging package offers full system image backup and recovery, both locally and to the Acronis cloud; recovery of a complete OS X image, or just the specific files or folders required; smart backup scheduling, including automatic backups, and advanced Parallels Desktop support.
Acronis True Image for Mac can be customized for each individual user's needs, including allowing the user to decide where data is stored: locally, to the Acronis cloud, or both. The program also has the ability to backup Windows virtual machines running in Parallels Desktop, even when the virtual machine is running, ensuring a complete backup of all data.
Other features of the backup package include personal key data encryption, recovery media creation, and versioning and incremental backups. It also detects Time Capsules as an optional storage destination.
Acronis True Image for Mac is currently available for $50. Users with multiple Macs can purchase a three-Mac license for $80. Acronis Cloud storage options are available, starting at $5 per month for 250GB.
