SugarSync simplifies user interface, offers sale to new users

Cloud service SugarSync has completely reinvented its desktop application, creating a simpler, more streamlined user experience. The new desktop update brings one-click access to folders, devices and shared files, and will be available at launch in Spanish, French, English, and Japanese. An iOS revision is expected shortly, with Android to follow. For a limited time, SugarSync is offering individual or business customers a discount of 75 percent off the cost of an annual plan for first-time users only. With this offer, individual plans start as low as $18.75 per year for 60GB of storage, and business plans at now start at $137.50 for three users and 1TB of storage per year.

Opera Mini upgraded on iOS with new interface, QR code reader

Alternative browser Opera Mini has seen an update on iOS today. The new version adds a new interface for iOS 7, and can operate in Normal, Mini, or Turbo mode -- the latter two modes offer varying compression of information, and savings on data usage. A new tab gallery shows every website neatly stacked for a quick overview, so users can navigate loaded sites with simple gestures. Also added for this version is a QR reader and generator, giving iOS users the ability to share URLs with the popular code. The new version is free, and is available on the iOS App Store today.
