Appurify continuing support for iOS, iBeacon testing

At Google's I/O conference, the search engine giant announced that it had acquired app-testing firm Appurify. The firm specializes in simulated cross-platform environments for app testing. Google isn't shutting down the public-facing aspects of the service, but notes that it is moving to a "freemium" pay-as-you-go model.

The company provides detailed reports to find performance and functional issues like bugs, network bottlenecks and potential stability problems. It can also simulate any wireless network, including unreliable or slow connections.

The company maintains a secure data center filled with iOS and Android phones and tablets for real-world testing and feedback. As it stands, the platform includes support for every iOS and Android automated test framework, and all popular continuous integration systems. Google is retaining the iOS aspects of the service, including iBeacon app testing.

The terms of the deal are not yet known.
