FiftyThree announces upcoming iOS 8-exclusive Pencil stylus control feature for Paper
FiftyThree will be adding a new stylus feature for its Paper drawing app for the upcoming iOS 8. Called "Surface Pressure," the feature will allow the Pencil tool's tapered tip to shade, fill and draw according to how much of the rubber tip is in contact with the screen. Fine lines can be created with the nib of the Pencil, and broad strokes as well as shading can be achieved by tilting the stylus to one side. The input feature will also work with Paper's existing digital brushes. The updated Surface Pressure feature will be available this fall upon the release of iOS 8, and will be automatically available for owners of the Pencil stylus. Paper by FiftyThree is free to download from the App Store; the Pencil stylus is available through Amazon starting at $60.
