Tado achieves Kickstarter funding goal, announces Internet of Things integrations
Tado has announced that it has successfully achieved its Kickstarter fundraising goal for its app-controlled air conditioning system. Tado Cooling turns an AC unit into a smart device, enabling auto shut-off, pre-cooling, indoor presence detection and single room control through smartphone apps. This week, the company has announced integrations with major contributors from the "Internet of Things" ecosystem, such as Apple's Homekit. Integration with Homekit allows Tado users to utilize Siri voice command to control temperature or sleep time changes from the Tado app. Other integrations include IFTTT, which enables users to connect a variety of web applications to their AC controller. Shipping of Tado devices that have been purchased through its Kickstarter is due to begin in August.
