CD Projekt Red details items in three releases, sets February 2015 as official release

Word has come in from CD Projekt Red, giving The Witcher 3 a solid date for its 2015 release. The game, fully titled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, will be available February 24, 2015 in seven different languages with full voiceover, with an additional nine languages available in subtitles. The game is set to release for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4 in physical and digital formats on

On top of being available on popular game hub GOG, gamers will also be able to pick between two different physical releases of the game. The standard edition will come with a protective sleeve, official soundtrack, map of the world and a set of stickers. The standard physical edition will be priced at $50 for PC or $60 for Playstation 4 or Xbox One on Amazon. The digital edition is currently listed at $54 on GOG, which offers a large number of its own perks, with the purchase including a copy of Neverwinter Nights.

A much larger collector's edition is being put out as well, featuring a 12 x 9.5 x 10-inch, hand-painted statue of Geralt of Rivia fighting a griffin. Other items include a 200-page art book, Steelbook box, a medallion and everything else from the standard edition. Pricing has not yet been set for the collector's edition.

With the release date and pre-order announcements, CD Project Red has also unveiled the E3 trailer for the game. The trailer is available now on YouTube, but readers are warned that there is some graphic violence and blood depicted.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt returns players to the role of monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, inside an open medieval fantasy world. Geralt is placed against his biggest foe yet, the Wild Hunt -- an enemy that is capable of destroying an entire settlement overnight. Players will have to find someone outlined in an ancient prophecy and protect them, driven by a personal agenda, in this action role-playing game.
