Twitter rolls out new profiles, adds pictures to Tweetdeck scheduling

New web profiles for all users, Tweetdeck adds scheduled picture tweets, visibility

Twitter has made a few changes to some of its services recently, namely in the profile pages and its Tweetdeck app. The company announced in April that it was testing a new profile layout for the web, starting with a small user group. These new profiles have now been rolled out to all Twitter users. Tweetdeck has also seen some changes, adding new features to post scheduling within the app.

The new Twitter profiles were officially announced as rolling out to users yesterday according to the official Twitter account. With the new profile pages comes a look that should be familiar to Facebook users. While the look isn't a direct clone of a Facebook page, some things stand out like the profile picture location and emphasis on the feed.

Users will also be able to put up a custom header on their profiles. Selected tweets can be pinned to the top of the feed, while popular tweets will stand out due to their font appearing slightly larger. The change in profiles comes on the heels of the mute feature that was rolled out earlier this month.

Tweetdeck has also received a small improvement to one of its popular features in a recent update. The app will see more options given to scheduled tweets, including the ability to add images. In instances where more than one person has access to a Twitter account, those using Tweetdeck will now see tweets others have scheduled as well. Users will just need to add a scheduled column in the program.

In the post announcing the additions, engineering manager Tom Leitch also mentioned that scheduled tweets system has been unified. This means that any scheduled tweet through Tweetdeck would "be visible on and vice versa."
