LG leaks G3 specifications through LG Netherlands website

updated 05:29 am EDT, Tue May 27, 2014

Self-performed leak ahead of official LG G3 launch

LG Netherlands has leaked out details of its upcoming G3 smartphone on its website, ahead of its formal launch later today. Now removed but viewable on Google's cache, the site confirmed the majority of specifications revealed in an earlier "secret" pre-launch event, including its 5.5-inch 2,560x1,440-resolution display, and the laser auto focus of its rear 13 megapixel OIS+ camera.

The specifications list does differ slightly from previous leaks in some important areas, according to Droid-Life, though the site's specification sheet is unavailable for confirmation. The website reportedly listed the phone as using 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, a step down from the 3GB and 32GB seen earlier. This could possibly be a sign LG is preparing two versions of the same device for sale, as the numbers tally up to an earlier leaked image.

The site showed the G3 will have a 1-Watt speaker, have a "metallic" design, wireless charging, microSD expansion, and a 3,000mAh battery. Software-wise, it will use Android 4.4 with Knock Code, a "Smart Notice" phone maintenance reminder system, and the ability to launch six apps while using the Quick Circle cover.
