Price of Moto 360 in contest rules a guide for tax purposes, final price uncertain
The upcoming Moto 360 smart watch from Motorola could cost $249, according to details revealed in a recent competition. Despite being priced in rules the company itself wrote for a contest of its own devising, Motorola has denied the reports, claiming the price listed is just for tax purposes, with the final retail price for the smart watch yet to be finalized.

The "Moto 360 Design Face-Off" contest asks participants to create a watch-face design for the Android Wear device, with the rules giving a price of $249. After a pricing query on Google+ by Michael Tajchert, spotted by BGR, Motorola responded clarifying that the price was for the "Approximate Retail Value" of the device, and "should not be interpreted as the suggested retail price of the Moto 360 when it becomes available for purchase."
If the $249 price is accurate, it would make the Moto 360 one of the more affordable smart watches of its kind when it ships this summer.
