WWDC keynote to be held at 10AM on June 2; may include new hardware

Apple updates official app, reveals WWDC schedule

Apple has updated its official WWDC app for iOS, consequentially revealing the schedule for its 2014 conference. The event will kick off with an Apple keynote at 10AM Pacific time on June 2, and is due to last two hours. That was the expected time for the presentation, but it has only now been confirmed.

The keynote is anticipated to focus on OS X 10.10 and iOS 8. The former should adopt more features and visual cues from iOS, but retain its overall featureset and architecture. It's unknown if iOS 8 will include many graphical changes, but it is predicted to get Apple's new "Healthbook" fitness tracking app, an upgraded version of Maps, and possibly split-screen multitasking on the iPad.

Significantly, sources for 9to5Mac claim that Apple is also planning to announce new hardware at the keynote. What that hardware is, however, is unmentioned. That could mean new Apple TVs and/or a Retina MacBook Air, or even the iWatch, though most reports have called for that device to wait until the fall. Revealing it now might give developers more time to customize apps.

I hope they release a 4K Apple Cinema Display with Thunderbolt 2.

Yes, new display(s). Would be about frickin' time. I wonder though if WWDC is the time to do it... not much relevance for devs.
