Teaser video for LG G3 launch gives close-up views of camera, rear buttons

LG has started to tease its expected launch of the G3 on May 27th, by releasing a video. The YouTube clip, which gives brief glances of the flagship smartphone, is accompanied by what is believed to be promotional renders of the device, giving a much clearer view of what the G3 could look like, as well as how it will appear in a range of colors.

The teaser video gives close-up shots of the camera's optical image stabilization, the brushed metal casing, the curvature of the back, and its rear-mounted volume control buttons. At the end, it gives a view of the front of the device, and though it is purposely hidden in the darkness, it looks remarkably close to a previously-leaked photograph.

The marketing renders received by Phone Arena also appear to closely match the video, suggesting them to be genuine. The rear buttons appear to have a textured finish, presumably to help the user to recognize when they are touching the buttons by feel alone. While it is still not known what the small section to the left of the rear camera is, the recent launch of the Isai FL in Japan, a device thought to be similar to the G3, suggests it could be a fingerprint sensor.

The LG G3 is believed to ship with a 5.5-inch, 1440x2560-resolution display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage, and a rear 13-megapixel camera with OIS+.
