D-Link releases next generation four-port AC750 Wi-Fi routers

updated 04:24 pm EDT, Wed May 14, 2014

Router features dual-band technology, four Gigabit ports, tie-in with mydlink app

A new Wi-Fi router has been released from D-Link bringing dual-band Wi-Fi technology to the home with a splash of color. The next generation of the AC750 dual-band Gigabit cloud router features a cylindrical design similar to D-Link's gaming routers, but features some of the same technology found in the company's recent AC750 portable router and battery solution.

"With the launch of our new line of AC750 Wi-Fi Routers, customers not only get a powerful home network capable of supporting the most demanding applications, they also have a stylish device they can proudly display on the desk rather than buried underneath it," says D-Link's vice president of marketing Daniel Kelley.

Features of the new AC750 router include dual-band wireless with speeds of up to 433 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band in addition to four 10/100/1000 Gigabit ports for wired connections. The router supports 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and 802.3u wireless communications.

Users can also connect to the router through D-Link's mydlink cloud service app for smartphones or tablets. Through the app users can access files through a USB port on the device that works with Shareport or view current statistics on web traffic, websites visited or setup e-mail alerts for unauthorized connections.

The router offers 64/128 bit WEP security as well as WPA and WPA 2 access protocols. Additionally the router can make use of a demilitarized zone (DMZ), firewall or guest zone. The AC750 is also IPv6 ready.

The D-Link AC750 Wi-Fi router is now available in four colors through Amazon for $80.
