Boinx Software updates iStopMotion, includes live view support for Nikon and Canon DSLRs
Boinx Software has released an update to its stop motion animation software for Mac, now offering live view support for DSLR cameras from Nikon and Canon. iStopMotion 3.6 adds support for Nikon D5100, Nikon D5200, Nikon D7100 and Nikon D800 DSLR, meaning animators can use iStopMotion's Onion Skinning feature. The live preview with semi-transparent ghost image overlay allows animators to see their next shot and make small adjustments before capturing the frame. Its Rotoscope feature allows users to utilize another movie as a guide for animating, and iStopMotion's new support for animated GIF exporting includes saving any sequence for up to 200 frames as an animated GIF right to the hard drive. iStopMotion is currently priced at $50.
BRU Producer's Edition 3.1 released, adds Final Cut Pro X features
Tolis Group has released BRU Producer's Edition v3.1, offering users performance capabilities of supporting data streams over 3GB/sec on a legacy Mac Pro, Mac Mini or iMac system. Its new features include complete Final Cut Pro X environment and asset backup; users can drag and drop Final Cut Pro XML project files for both simplified backup and archival, restore support. CMX3600 EDL files can also be dragged and dropped, and 50 slot library extension allows the use of BRU PE v3.1 with larger, mid-range tape libraries. Priced at $500, the EDL Drag and Drop extension if $300 and the 50 slot library support extension is available for $200.
