New platform for avoiding name mispronounciation launches
Namez, a new platform for creating and accessing audio clips of names being pronounced as they are meant to be heard, has emerged out of beta today. Aiming to reduce mispronunciation and its ensuing embarrassments, Namez has started to accept user-submitted recordings to add to a database that already has a variety of politicians, bands, historical figures, animals and more. Namez also offers a widget that allows users to record their own name and insert the Namez play button in their own site, mail, CV and other places. The company has said that they plan to open up an API for the platform in the future.
