GoodReader 4 becomes universal app, adds PDF management tools

Allows rearranging, adding, and extracting pages

Good.iWare has released GoodReader 4, a major update of its PDF reading, sync, and annotation utility for iOS. Version 4 is the first to be a universal app, no longer requiring separate iPhone and iPad purchases. Feature-wise the update concentrates on adding a collection of PDF management tools, going beyond basic editing functions.

These include the ability to rearrange and rotate pages, insert blank pages for further notes or annotations, or delete pages entirely. Documents can also be extracted into separate files or split in half; going in the opposite direction, pages from other PDF files can be appended. Finally, when sharing, users can now email individual pages instead of the entire PDF.

GoodReader 4 is a paid upgrade. To compensate, the app is temporarily on sale for $3, and Good.iWare has included a migration assistant which will import files and settings from an older version of GoodReader.
