Rumored Samsung smart watch with cellular connection heads to India
Samsung's Gear Solo has been spotted for a second time, suggesting a launch of the standalone smart watch is on the way. The listing on Zauba, an Indian import data site, shows the device being transported from South Korea for "R & D" or research and development purposes, though the name has been tweaked from the original Gear Solo registration to the Gear 2 Solo instead.
The listing spotted by MakTechBlog notes only one unit of the Gear Solo was imported, alongside seven "sample Samsung mobile phone sets." The individual value of the Gear Solo is noted as Rs 12,292 ($205), though this is likely to differ from the released device.

The Gear Solo is believed to be a version of Samsung's Gear 2 smart watches that does not require a Bluetooth connection to a smartphone. Rumors suggest it will have its own SIM card slot and cellular radio, allowing it to connect to a carrier by itself, and though this could mean the Gear Solo could upload photos taken with an onboard camera to social network sites, it is unknown if the watch will offer any form of calling capability.
