Chrome OS all-in-one PC from LG priced at $350
LG will be shipping its Chromebase all-in-one PC this month in the United States, the manufacturer revealed following Google and Intel's joint Chrome OS media event yesterday The desktop computer, first shown at CES in January, combines a 21.5-inch Full HD IPS display with a mid-range Chromebook into one single unit powered by Google's Chrome OS.
Inside the Chromebase is a 1.4GHz Haswell-based Intel Celeron processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of SSD storage. While it lacks the typical storage of a desktop computer, just like the majority of Chromebooks, it is built to use cloud storage and streaming instead of storing content locally, and will ship with 100GB of Google Drive storage. Three USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, headphone and mic ports, and a 1.3-megapixel webcam are also included, along with a pair of built-in 5W speakers, an HDMI port, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Pre-orders for the LG Chromebase will begin from May 12th from some online retailers, with shipments of the $350 desktop beginning from May 26th.
