Bailey takes over as CEO of Burberry

[Update: Apple executive gallery now updated] Angela Ahrendts has officially left her post as Burberry's CEO, Reuters reports. Her last day with the company is said to have been Wednesday, and Burberry's executive listings show Christopher Bailey as wielding the dual titles of CCO and CEO. That suggests that Ahrendts has already assumed her new position as head of Apple retail, and her portrait has now appeared on Apple's executive page.

During a quarterly results call on April 23, CEO Tim Cook promised that Ahrendts would join Apple sometime this week. She was actually announced as taking the position last year, but remained with Burberry for months while helping the company transition over to Bailey.

It's funny how several "news" reports (about a month ago) said that Ahrendts would wait until September to start at Apple, so she could cash in millions of dollars of Burberry stock options. I guess the writers were looking at their own greed and transposing it onto her.
