Amazon smartphone render reveals large display, possible glass back

Amazon's rumored smartphone has allegedly surfaced in an image leak. A render of the complete device, displaying both the front and the back of the smartphone, is said to show what the smartphone looks like under the protective covering it was previously photographed using, with the design being a slight departure from the chisled construction the Kindle Fire HDX range uses.

Multiple sources of BGR claim the rendered image is a genuine, and was created for internal use by Amazon's own graphic designers. Much like other smartphones, it has a large front screen with a button towards the dual speakers on the base, with the plastic edges curving to meet what could be a glass backing. While it supposedly has a 4.7-inch display, the body extends further in order to accommodate six separate cameras.

Earlier rumors suggest the smartphone will have a 720p-resolution display, a rear 13-megapixel camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and will provide a glasses-free 3D effect with tilting gesture controls. Amazon is also reportedly looking into offering its own "Prime Data" cellular service with the device, which could offer streaming of Amazon content without using any data allowances.

Some reports think Amazon will launch the device towards the end of June, with a view to shipping the smartphone before the end of September.
