Events in London, San Francisco, New York, three other cities planned for LG G3 launch
LG has started to distribute invitations to members of the media for an event being held at the end of next month, which could potentially be the launch of the rumored G3 smartphone. Events in six cities around the world are planned, with the London, San Francisco, and New York events being held on May 27th, and secondary events in Seoul, Singapore, and Istanbul the next day.
The invitation received by Phone Arena hints at a launch from the company's flagship device range, with the "To be simple is to be great" quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson emphasizing the letter G in the last word. Current rumors and leaks claim the G3 will have a similar rear-button control scheme to the G2, a 5.5-inch 1440x2560-resolution display, a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB or 3GB of RAM, and a rear 13-megapixel camera with possible OIS+.
While the G3 is the most likely candidate for the launch, there could be another item set to be unveiled at the same time. Les Numeriques was advised by LG France that the G Watch, the Android Wear-based smart watch, will apparently be launching in Europe in June, selling for 199 euros ($275). It is possible the G Watch will make an appearance at the event, considering the timing, though it could also appear at Google I/O alongside other Android Wear devices.
