IFTTT recipe app now available for Android devices

If This Then That (IFTTT), a recip-based automation app, is now available for Android devices as of today. Offering photo, call, notification, SMS, location and device settings specific to Android, users can use IFTTT to harness greater control over how one's mobile device's features interact with other another; an example of this would be automatic ringtone silencing when the user's phone connects to the office WiFi network. IFTTT is available for download from Google Play.

Unreal Engine 4.1 released for PlayStation4, Xbox One and SteamOS

Game development tool suite Unreal Engine 4 has released an update, supporting PlayStation 4, Xbox One and SteamOS. Unreal Engine's rendering architecture allows developers to create elaborate and versatile visuals that can scale to lower-end systems. The release of v4.1.0 features full engine source support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, available to subscribers who are registered developers with Microsoft or Sony. Deploying objects to PlayStation 4 of Xbox One requires compiling source for GitHub using Windows. Games can now also be packaged and delayed to SteamOS and Linux, which requires compiling source from GitHub using a Windows computer as well.

Unreal Engine also released a demo of Elemental for PlayStation 4 today, highlighting its software's high-end rendering capacities. Another new content example, Math Hall, provides an introduction to basic vector math and the concept behind math functions. Two new project templates are included in Unreal Engine v4.1, demonstrating flying and rolling character movements, and its new built-in editor tutorials provide walkthroughs for utilizing various aspects of the program such as cascade particles, creating materials, and more. The release notes detail how users can upgrade their Blueprint or C++ projects presently, while more simplified processes are under way for future versions. Unreal Engine pricing starts at $20 per month for the full engine and source.
