Official iPhone trade-in program reaches German Apple Stores

updated 09:16 am EDT, Mon April 7, 2014

Initiative continues slow international expansion

Apple's iPhone Reuse and Recycling Program is now in effect in German Apple Stores. As elsewhere, the plan lets people get credit towards a new iPhone by trading in eligible older models. In Germany, Apple is offering up to €230 in credit, depending on the model and its condition.

iPhone trade-ins have been expanding relatively slowly so far. They began in the US last year, and have since spread to Canada, the UK, France, and -- in limited form -- India. Regions like Australia, Japan, and other major European countries are still uncovered.
