New Lenovo tablet range offers Dolby audio, low price point

Lenovo has announced a quartet of budget Android tablets it will be releasing later this quarter, with all said to provide high-quality Dolby-powered audio. A pair of seven-inch tablets, the A7-30 and A7-50, will be joined by the eight-inch A8 and the 10.1-inch A10, with all appearing to be focused on offering a basic set of features and specifications at a low cost.

The A7-30 is said to be "designed for optimal music or multimedia enjoyment" via its Dolby-enhanced dual-front speakers, while the A7-50 will provide an "optimal reading and viewing experience," according to a press release received by Android Central. Both will use a quad-core processor and have both Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, with the A7-50 also said to have front and rear 2-megapixel cameras.

The A8, meant for mobile "home entertainment," will be available in a range of "bold color options." The eight-inch HD display and Dolby audio will be supported by a quad-core processor. The A10 is billed as a "Mobile Home Theater System," also with a HD screen, Dolby-enhanced front speakers, and a quad-core processor.

Shipping worldwide sometime in the second quarter, Lenovo is pricing the A7-50, A8, and A10 starting from £100 ($166), £140 ($233), and £170 ($282) respectively, though the A7-30 has yet to be priced.
