Soundfreaq ships Sound Rise Bluetooth clock speaker

updated 03:38 pm EDT, Wed April 2, 2014

Includes USB charging, adjustable light levels

Soundfreaq has started shipping the Sound Rise, a new Bluetooth-based clock speaker. The device is relatively straightforward, for instance featuring built-in dual alarms, which can use separate weekday/weekend settings and a gradual volume increase, whether an alarm is toggled to FM radio, a connected device, or a chime. The speaker also includes a sleep timer which can be set in increments up to 120 minutes, and dimmable display brightness that can even be shut off completely.

A provided USB port keeps nearby devices charged. When not using Bluetooth or radio, audio can also be pumped in via a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Two versions of the Sound Rise are on sale. A $69 version is all-black, and available only through Target. A $79 taupe/wood edition is being sold via soundfreaq.com and Amazon.
