Briefly: Twitter adds date range search, Airtame dongle October debut

updated 11:35 pm EDT, Tue April 1, 2014

Twitter updates to include new tweet date range search option

Social media platform Twitter has added a new element to its search function. On its Advanced Search page, Twitter users can now search for tweets by a date range, making old messages easier to find with a date range estimation. Though this feature was technically available prior to now by including the search terms "since:" and "until:," manual operators are now not required.

Airtame wireless screen-mirroring dongle to be available for shipping in October

Danish start-up Airtame will be shipping its upcoming wireless screen-mirroring dongle this fall, with beta users receiving it in July. An HDMI dongle that connects to one's monitor or TV, the Airtame can wirelessly mirror or extend a desktop (once its software is installed), to one or multiple remote screens. This can be achieved over a home network or a direct Wi-Fi connection, and features a 25 to 30-millisecond latency. Airtame is anticipated to eventually support smartphone and tablet video transmission, with some apps due to be supported at the time of launch; the dongle will also have its own browser, controllable from one's mobile device. Customers can currently pre-order the Airtame dongle for $100 online.
