LG prepares to ship G2 mini in April, retailers price it at 350 euro

updated 10:41 pm EDT, Sat March 29, 2014

Mini version of LG flagship smartphone appears at European retailers

LG has revealed it will be releasing the G2 mini internationally from next month onwards. At the same time as the shipping information release, which does not appear to cover North America, the first sightings of the miniaturized flagship in European retailers are giving an indication for how much the smartphone will cost in some markets.

Unveiled for Mobile World Congress, the LG G2 mini has a 4.7-inch 960x540 display with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and either a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor or a 1.7GHz Nvidia Tegra 4i, depending on the version. On the back is an 8-megapixel or 13-megapixel camera, again depending on model, with a 1.3MP front-facing version, along with rear-mounted controls similar to the full-size G2, and a 2,440mAh battery.

The LTE-equipped device will be rolling out in April in CIS countries followed by markets in Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. Details for specific countries will apparently be announced in the coming weeks. GSM Arena reports that the LG G2 mini is appearing in German and Spanish retailers priced at 350 euro ($480)
