Adds further support for in-app Rotten Tomatoes review snippets
On Tuesday, Apple updated its iTunes Movie Trailers app for iOS devices, bringing updated notifications when new releases hit local cinemas or the iTunes Store. Version 1.4 also adds actual review excerpts from the Rotten Tomatoes review website, rather than just scores, and adds sharing courtesy of the AirDrop feature, allowing users to share links to movie trailers featured in the app.
Users can now turn on push notifications if desired, alerting them to new releases or if a given movie is now available for rent or sale at the iTunes Store. The addition of review excerpts allows users to read up on critics' reviews without leaving the app -- previously, the app only showed a given movie's "Rotten" or "Fresh" scores and user ratings.
In addition to the upgrades, the update also features the usual bug-squashing and performance enhancements. The app is available for free from the App Store.
