Nokia event scheduled for first day of Microsoft developer conference

Nokia has started to send out invitations for an event promising "more Lumia" on April 2nd, the first day of the Microsoft Build developer conference. Considering the timing of the event, as well as the large amount of blue used on the invitation, it is likely that Nokia will not only be revealing its Windows Phone 8.1 plans, but also unveiling one or more Lumia smartphones.

Windows Phone 8.1, also known as Windows Blue is thought to begin the convergence of Windows Store and Windows Phone Store apps into the same code base, with the resulting "Universal Apps" able to be run on both Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 8.1 computers. Previous leaks have suggested it will allow users to monitor their storage and battery capacities more effectively, adds VPN support, separates out the Music and Video apps, and changes the way multitasking is performed on the device, among other changes. It is also thought that Windows Phone 8.1 will introduce the Cortana virtual assistant.

As for what devices could be launched, two rumored smartphones could make an appearance. The Lumia 630, codenamed Moneypenny, is believed to be a dual-SIM device and aside from an image from the @evleaks Twitter account and a screenshot, there is little else to go on for the phone. The Lumia 930, codenamed Martini, is also a potential candidate for launch, with PhoneArena suggesting it to have a sub-5-inch display, 32GB of storage, and a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor.
