Coaxing Mavericks onto older Macs

MacNN forum goers try to help Mac Elite "Helmling" figure out a way to get Mavericks to run on a MacBook from mid-2007, as well as provide some interesting insight on how this can be accomplished. "ShortcutToMoncton" is looking for good backup software that can assist in backing up their data to multiple drives.

Senior User "Le Flaneur" is trying to figure out why a remote MBP on a LAN connection disappears from the Finder sidebar when the icon is clicked, and a solution has yet to be found. Grizzled Veteran "jmiddel" is trying to figure out why it is that their table radio makes a squealing noise when connected to their Mini via an auxiliary connection, but doesn't when connected to a MacBook Pro. One long time forum user has been having problems with their Mac Pro crashing or freezing while it is in sleep mode, but cant determine what the problem is.
