Company in talks with Mac publisher Aspyr
The popular first-person shooter Titanfall should eventually reach the Mac, says one of the game's creators, Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella. In a Wednesday Twitter post Zampella revealed that Respawn is in talks with Aspyr, a publisher well known for porting Windows games to the Mac. Titanfall is currently only available for Windows and the Xbox One; an Xbox 360 version is due soon as well.
The game is a multiplayer title in which people assume control of a futuristic soldier in six-on-six battles. After racking up enough score, a player earns the right to call down a titan -- a mech suit that towers above ground troops and even has some independent AI functions, for instance allowing it to guard a chokepoint while the player wanders elsewhere. To fight back infantry have access to anti-titan weapons, parkour-style maneuvers, and the ability to sabotage a titan by leaping onto its chassis.
Titanfall proved so popular when it launched earlier this week that it may have contributed to an Xbox Live outage.
