iTunes Radio could be moved into standalone app for iOS 8

Apple is testing the idea of moving iTunes Radio into a dedicated app for iOS 8, sources say. At the moment, iTunes Radio is just another option in iOS 7's Music app. This may be hurting its adoption, since third-party rivals like Pandora and Spotify are separate apps and hence more visible. As a distinct entity, iTunes Radio would likely still come pre-installed with iOS 8.

Apple has split off functions from its iPod/Music app several times in the past. In iOS 5, videos gained their own app, and in iOS 6 the same happened to podcasts. iTunes U has not only been broken off, but expanded to become a complete course-taking system.

    Good idea. Too much stuffs in iTunes. Thanks goodness I am not doing page layout and spread sheet in iTunes.
