More data offered to US Cellular customers, promotional plan touted
US Cellular could be preparing to update its Shared Data plans, according to an allegedly-leaked memo. Dated to be announced tomorrow, the carrier is planning to add more data to existing plans as well as adding another lower tier of service, and introducing a promotional single-line price plan that will be available for a number of weeks before other subscription changes.
According to the memo received by Droid-Life, the $40 300MB plan will be bumped up to 1GB, while the $50 1GB and $60 2GB plans will offer 2GB and 3GB allocations of data respectively. While existing customers will be moved onto the new higher data tiers, customers looking for just 300MB of data will be able to get it for $15 per month.
The single line plan is said to offer 1GB of data and will be priced at $60 per month. The memo notes it will be available as a promotional plan "for several weeks until the launch of the new Simple Connect Plans."
The price changes come after similar recent plan alterations by AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
