Secure a new Mac Pro with the $49 Switchd MacPro Lock
A new security solution for the latest Mac Pro has been announced from a company called Identified Media, which is taking pre-orders now for a new locking alteration referred to as the Switchd Mac Pro Lock. The lock is expected to ship next month, using a replacement part for the existing case lock switch on the 2013 Mac Pro that creates an opening for a standard cable lock. The pre-order price is $49, and emails are being accepted for notification about when the product debuts.
TwelveSouth offers new version of SurfacePad for Mini, hints at forthcoming Air case
Accessory maker TwelveSouth has customized its SurfacePad line of cases for the second-generation iPad mini, which -- like its iPhone sibling -- offers a fully-wrapping leather cover with a built-in stand, and Smart Cover-like magnets to sleep or wake the seven-inch iPad tablet.
The new cover is available in black, white and red, and TwelveSouth says it is currently working on an iPad Air version of the case, which the company expects will be available during the spring (and as with the new Mac Pro lock, emails are being accepted for notification when the Air case is available). The iPad mini version of the case sells for $70, and is available now.
