iOS 7.1 imminent, linked to iTunes Festival SXSW app, rumor claims

updated 02:49 pm EST, Tue March 4, 2014

App will allegedly require iOS update

A public release of iOS 7.1 may be imminent, says John Gruber. The tech commentator says he's learned that the app Apple will use to stream iTunes Festival SXSW will require v7.1. Since the festival starts next week, that means that v7.1 would have to be ready in a matter of days.

That would be consistent with rumors that the update is due on or around March 15th. Aside from improving enterprise support, the code isn't expected to make many changes. Betas have, so far, revolved almost entirely around bugfixes and cosmetic tweaks.
