YouTube video shows All New HTC One, taken down after intimidation

updated 07:12 am EST, Mon March 3, 2014

Dual camera, microSD card slot confirmed in removed video

A video said to show the upcoming All New HTC One may actually have shown the device, if the reaction from a HTC manager is anything to go by. The 12-minute video, which has since been taken down by the original uploader but has since been re-added to YouTube by others, appears to show a device that is extremely similar to the original in terms of appearance and size, and seemingly confirms earlier rumors concerning its appearance.

The video from Roshan Jamkatel surfaced over the weekend, and shows the device to have Sense 6.0 with Android KitKat onboard, as well as on-screen buttons and a brushed-metal casing. The twin-sensor camera with dual-LED flash is said to be an improvement compared to the HTC One, while storage is supplemented by a microSD card slot, something absent in its predecessor.

HTC Senior Global Online Communications Manager Jeff Gordon has contacted the uploader on Twitter, reports Phone Arena. Gordon advises to Jamkatel "It's not going to be a good week for you, my friend," claiming to have the IMEI and other details, and that HTC will "be in touch." While the general tone of the tweets suggests some sort of legal trouble on the horizon, it does effectively confirm the validity of the video, and in turn, of the device shown.

In preparation for the launch of the new smartphone on March 25th, HTC has revealed the second in its series of teaser videos. Just as with the first video, the "Metal Unibody" clip does not directly mention specifics, but does hint at a similar all-metal construction that is "sleeker" than before.
