Razer's Game Booster software gains cloud-saving capabilities

Beta version uses Dropbox to backup game progress and settings

Razer's Game Booster has been gained another feature in its recent beta release, bringing cloud-saving capabilities to the software for game save files and settings as the company branches out further. The new Game Save Manager currently supports over 2,000 titles with more being added.

The save manager searches the PC for games as part of the overall program, but specifically compiles game saves and setting files into a zip archive which is then uploaded to the Dropbox account. As long as the software is installed on the computer being used, Game Booster will pull the files for use. Currently, the system doesn't differentiate from games that may already be saved through other means such as Steam Cloud.

Razer added the functionality to the software as a way to enhance the gaming experience, according to CEO Min-Liang Tan. "There are few things that take the fun out of gaming more than lost game progress or disappearing settings. It is our hope to rid the world of such frustrations and help make sure that losing game info never happens again."

Game Booster also features a game launcher, screen capture gallery and the title feature which will maximize system resources, perform system maintenance and optimize PC settings to gain the best performance out of the system for gaming. At present, the process only supports the use of Dropbox, but Razer says other such services will be available upon full release.
