HTC may reuse One name in smartphone successor

HTC has started to tease its upcoming successor to the HTC One, launching on March 25th, by publishing the first of a series of videos. While the clip focuses on the BoomSound audio system used in the original, it also seemingly confirms an earlier rumor that the company will be opting to call it the "All New HTC One" instead of alternative names such as the HTC One 2, or its codename, the HTC M8.

The "Technical Translations" video is noted by CNET to be the initial clip of a collection, which it believes the company could use to cover other HTC-specific features, such as BlinkFeed. Despite being a promotion for the next phone, it censors out discussion of the device's features and pixelates a device that is supposed to resemble the phone itself, effectively providing little in the way of detail, except for a possible name and that it has improved audio. The video may have also hinted at another possible name, with the Hashtag "HTCOneUp" shown at one point.

Current rumors suggest the device will have a five-inch 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, multiple color options, and a pair of rear-mounted cameras which could be used for 3D photography or other similar effects.
