Q20 going back to BlackBerry's roots, Z3 specific to Indonesia

At the Barcelona Mobile World Congress, BlackBerry today announced a pair of devices, with one specific to the Indonesian marketplace. Highlighting the event was the new BlackBerry Q20, a device that the company says will "deliver its full and distinctive QWERTY experience on BlackBerry 10." Also unveiled was the BlackBerry Z3, an all-touch five-inch model customized with local apps and content for Indonesian customers.

The BlackBerry Q20, also called the BlackBerry Classic, is a 3.5-inch capacitive touch device with a full QWERTY hardware keyboard. Few concrete specs for the new phone are avaiable, with CEO John Chen claiming that the device will give users "familiar hard buttons and trackpad that you want, along with the best email service, the best keyboard experience and the best battery life possible." Chen expects the new phone to see release before the end of the year, with a few other higher-end models before the end of the year.

The BlackBerry Z3 "Jakarta" is a combined effort between BlackBerry and Foxconn, and is designed to sell for under $200. Again, few specs are available, but the launch model will be 3G-only, and have a FM radio receiver on-board. The Z3 should be available by the end of April.
