Larson-Green to helm Microsoft Applications and Services

According to some internal Microsoft documents presently circulating, former Nokia chief Stephen Elop will not only shoulder the new cellular division of Microsoft, but will also take on Julie Larson-Green's former role in the company as the executive in charge of Microsoft Devices and Studios. Larson-Green is moving to the Applications and Services group, where she will help shape the future of Microsoft's software offerings, according to the memo.

Microsoft Devices and Studios is the group responsible for Xbox hardware, the Microsoft Surface tablet line, as well as the company's game development efforts. Microsoft Studios game development projects include the flagship Halo franchise, as well as the Gears of War universe, amongst others.

Larson-Green will be in charge of the user interface and overall graphical design of Microsoft's future projects. The executive claimed in an email that she is "looking forward to developing the Digital Life & Digital Work Experience Substrate that powers modern digital experiences regardless of device, as well as working across ASG to strengthen customer experiences."
