Apple picks up four .technology domains, applestore.berlin

Issues blocks on still more domains

Apple has acquired the rights to several more domain names, made available through ICANN's continuing rollout of new generic top-level domains. The company now owns four .technology addresses: apple.technology, ipad.technology, iphone.technology, and mac.technology. It has also secured blocks against registering some domains, including apple.construction and macbook.technology.

The company's first geographically-based domain is applestore.berlin. The URL refers to Apple's Kurf├╝rstendamm outlet, which opened just last year. The acquisition suggests that the company may pickup more retail-related domains as they become available.
